Abaco Island is 160 miles east of Miami and 45 miles northeast of Nassau.
The island is accessible from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach by Continental Airlines, US Air, Bahamas Airlines, and American Airlines.
Check-in is at 4 pm on Saturdays and checkout is at 9 AM on Saturday mornings!
You'll rarely see more than a dozen people a day on our secluded, sandy beach. Acres of salt-water tidal flats, the preferred habitat of bonefish, stretch out before the house.
It's a perfect spot for family vacations, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, or just plain relaxing. We can arrange any activites you'd like, and we can provide three delicious meals a day for $50 per person.
For those who like to bonefish, local guides can take two anglers to the best locations for $500 a day.
Go deep-sea fishing for wahoo, tuna, and more -- just a mile or so off shore! Boats fro hire with expert, local captains are available for $1200 a day.
Winners have three years to book their week: from February of 2008 until August of 2011. Specific dates are subject to availability.
This week there are two schools having their online auctions and fundraiser galas at the same time: St. George's Episcopal School in New Orleans and the Texas Boys Choir, which is part of the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts.
Half of the auction proceeds for both this trip to Abaco Island in the Bahamas (OE A-1) and the Ultimate California Wine Country Romantic Getaway for Two (OE A-2) are being donated to St. George's and the Texas Boys Choir. No matter who buys the trips both schools will receive 25% of the sale proceeds.
